How to prep your skin for graduation?

Mini facial

One of the best graduation beauty tips is to do this mini facial one day before your big day to get glowing skin.

Cleanser

Cleanse your skin properly at night. You can use the regular cleanser or this DIY face wash. What you need-

  • 1/2 tbsp gram flour
  • 1/4 tbsp fuller earth

Take gram flour and fuller earth in a bowl. Add enough water to this until you get a paste-like consistency. Massage your face with this face wash and wash it off after leaving it on your skin for 5 minutes.

Gram flour treats acne and has zinc in it to fight infections. It controls excess sebum production and calms down the skin. Fuller earth absorbs sebum, sweat, oil and dirt from the clogged pores and makes your skin radiant by getting rid of blemishes.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating your skin is crucial to remove dead skin cells for better makeup application. For this, you need-

  • 1/2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/4 tbsp coffee

Take rice flour and coffee in a bowl.
Add enough water to it until you get a paste-like consistency. Apply it to your face and massage using light hands for 3-4 minutes before washing it off.

Rice flour contains Vitamin B, which helps in producing new cells. It makes our skin smoother and glowy. Along with protecting the skin against free radicals, ice maintains and repairs the natural barrier. Coffee brightens our skin.

Face mask

You can apply your favourite face mask depending on your skin needs or use this face mask. For the same, you need-

  • 1 tbsp oats flour
  • 4 tbsp boiled water/milk

Take oats flour in a bowl. Add boiling water or milk to it. Mix it and leave it for 10 minutes until the mixture turns gooey.
Apply it after exfoliating your face and wash it off after 15 minutes.

Oats have anti-inflammatory properties that help in improving dry skin and roughness. They also reduce itchiness and give a glow to the skin. Milk contains lactic acid that exfoliates our skin without stripping natural oils off it.

Toning and hydration

Spray toner or rose water on your face to balance the PH level of your skin, and then hydrate your skin using your favourite facial moisturiser, shea butter or facial oil.
Do not forget to moisturise your lips.

How to feel fresh in summers

Graduation makeup tips

  • Start by cleaning, toning and moisturising your skin.
  • Ensure that you apply sunscreen before applying makeup.
  • Apply primer all over your face.
  • Use waterproof makeup.
  • Apply a half-shade lighter concealer under the eyes and around the nose and lips to conceal any redness or dark spots.
  • Apply a tinted liquid foundation using a beauty blender. The tinted moisturiser helps create a natural, sheer look.
  • Fill in your brows, and do not forget to brush them out to avoid any harsh lines.
  • Apply ivory eye shadow all over each eyelid, starting at the brow bone to the upper lashline.
  • Use a matte medium taupe eye shadow in each crease.
  • Apply mascara on the lashes after prepping the eyelashes with an eyelash curler.
  • Use bronzer on the natural shadow area of your face to make your face appear slimmer in photos.
  • Use blush to the cheeks, ensuring to follow the natural cheekbones. Dust a highlighter on the cheeks for a bright, dewy look.
  • Blend your makeup nicely to keep the harsh lines from appearing.
  • Fill the lips with a natural colour lip pencil to enhance the natural lip colour. You can add a bit of shine to the lips with a clear lip gloss.
  • Finish your makeup after using a setting spray.

Practical beauty hacks

Graduation hair tips

  • Ensure that your hair is clean so that they are easy to work with.
  • Take two drops of oil in your palm. Rub your palms together and apply the oil to the length of your hair to make them look shiny.
  • Avoid using oil on the scalp, and do not apply too much of it as you do not want your hair to look greasy.
  • Do not cover your face with too much hair on the sides while wearing a graduation cap. It will make your face look wider.
  • The best way to wear it is to put the sides of your hair to the back of your ears and wear it so that the pointy tip of your cap touches your hairline.
  • Do not bring the pointy tip of your cap to the middle of your forehead.

Fragrance

Do not forget to apply your favourite perfume.
The best points to apply your fragrance are wrist, neck, arm and leg creases.

Posture

One of the most crucial graduation beauty tips is to pay attention to your posture.
Stand up tall, and walk firmly with confidence.
You do not want to have a slouchy posture, as this will make you look lethargic and indicates a lack of confidence.

Graduation picture tips

  • Choose your location carefully.
  • Have your pictures taken in the golden hour for better lighting effects.
  • Check your dress, hair, makeup and cap before taking the pictures.
  • If you wear glasses, do not wear reflective ones.
  • Relax and take a few calming breaths before the photoshoot.
  • Find your best angle.
  • If you do not know your best angle, experiment and have fun.
  • Do not try to copy others.
  • Never fake a smile unless you want to look creepy.
  • Have fun and enjoy your time.
  • Ensure that you are not using too much makeup as it would look cakey and unnatural.
  • Turn your upper body 30-40 degrees left or right to make your body profile look slimmer.
  • If you are insecure about your double chin, press the tongue against the roof of your mouth and extend your face and neck slightly forward.
  • Match your eyes with your mouth.
  • Practice in the mirror a day before your photoshoot to know what looks good.
  • And please do not give that ‘same pose’ in all your pictures.
  • Believe me, you can look good in other poses as well😅
  • Just spray some confidence and see for yourself!

These are my favourite graduation beauty tips just for you. Now, quit overthinking; keep the excitement alive and rock!
