Beauty hacks that you need to know

Best way to prepare your skin for prom

Groom your eyebrows and remove any facial hair three days before prom. Two days before prom, do this facial and make sure that you do a patch test first.

DIY facial cleanser

For this, you need-

  • 1/2 tbsp Gram flour
  • 1/2 tbsp Fullers earth
  • Pinch of activated charcoal
  • Pinch of turmeric

Take gram flour, fullers earth (if you do not have fullers earth, you can use any facial clay), turmeric and activated charcoal in a bowl. Add enough water to the mixture until you get a paste-like consistency. Simply massage your face with this cleanser for 30 seconds. Then wash it off after 3 minutes.

Gram flour treats acne and has zinc in it to fight infections. It controls excess sebum production and calms down the skin. Turmeric has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It protects our skin against harmful UV radiations and helps in skin rejuvenation. Activated charcoal detoxes the skin properly. Fuller’s earth absorbs sebum, sweat, oil and dirt from the clogged pores and makes your skin radiant by getting rid of blemishes.

Correct ways to wash your hair for growth

Facial steam

To take facial steam-

  • Fill a small pot with 1 cup of water. Add 1 Tbsp green tea to it and bring it to a full boil.
  • Remove your makeup and clean your face with a cleanser.
  • Pour boiling water into a big glass bowl.
  • Cover your head with a towel. Trap the steam so that it gets concentrated near your skin. Do not be very close to the steaming water; it can burn your skin.
  • Take steam for 5 minutes.
  • After that, you can apply the scrub.

Steam opens up your pores and helps loosen up any dirt buildup for deeper cleansing. It increases circulation resulting in a healthy natural glow. It releases trapped sebum beneath your skin surface, a breeding ground for acne-causing bacteria.

Best juices for skin

Scrub

  • 1/2 tomato
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/2 tbsp wheat flour
  1. Take rice flour and wheat flour and mix them properly in a bowl.
  2. Take half a tomato, put it in the mixture, and start rubbing it slowly on the skin in a circular motion. Ensure that you are gentle on your skin.
  3. Massage your face for 5 minutes with it. Then leave it on for 7 minutes before washing it off.
  4. Do not use this scrub on your face if you have active acne.
  5. Your skin might get red after using this but do not get scared- it will come back to normal after using the face mask mentioned below.

Rice flour is an essential component of Korean and Japanese skincare because of its skin lightening and brightening properties. It removes dead skin cells and repairs the skin.
Wheat flour helps in the regeneration of skin cells. It has alpha arbutin that lightens up the dark spots. Tomato reduces sebum production and reverses any damage done by the sun.

After scrubbing, you can extract pimples or blackheads using the extraction tool but do it only when you know how to pop pimples properly. Otherwise, it would become a disaster.

While you prepare your skin for prom, do not try something crazy that is trending and do a patch test before applying anything to avoid any reaction.

Face mask

Who doesn’t wanna shine like a star on prom night? Well, then get happy, for that is what this face mak promises. It is my favourite face mask ever. Whenever my skin feels dull and dry, this mask always saves the day for me. Read and prepare your skin for the prom.

For this, you need-

  • 1 tbsp oats flour
  • 1/4 tbsp liquorice ( optional )
  • 3 tbsp milk
  1. Take oats flour (grind oats in a mixer, and your oats flour is ready! ) in a bowl. Then, add boiled milk and leave the mixture for 10 minutes until it becomes sticky and creamy. Add liquorice powder to the mixture and mix it properly.
  2. You can add more milk or some water to the mixture if it is too thick. The consistency should be paste-like.
  3. Apply this face mask to your skin and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Make sure you remove this mask before it dries.
  4. For removing the mask, wet your face thoroughly. Then massage your face for a minute. Wash it off!!

Oats are the best to calm dry, itchy or irritated skin. They hydrate your skin from within. Liquorice is best to remove any pigmentation caused to the skin over time. Milk has lactic acid that deeply cleanses the pores without drying our skin.

How to actually remove bad breath permanently

Toner

My favourite toner currently is alum water.
To prepare it, you need-

  • 1/2 cup water
  • Piece of alum

Put a piece of alum in water for 30 seconds. Then take the alum out of the water and store the water in a spray bottle. Use this spray as you use toner.

Alum wonderfully fades away any blemishes on the skin. It also controls the growth of new pimples.

Remove blackheads at home

Moisturiser

In my opinion, Shea butter makes one of the best moisturisers! I highly recommend it. It has really improved the texture of my skin and made my skin more even.

Shea butter helps with collagen production. It is incredibly nourishing and hydrating for our skin. It helps soften the skin, strengthen it and reduce wrinkles.
Shea butter protects our skin from sun damage and makes it glow.

Gua sha

After applying shea butter, massage your face with gua sha. It has so many benefits.
Ensure that your skin is hydrated enough for gua sha to glide easily on your face. Apply low to moderate pressure while using it.

Gua Sha increases circulation and improves lymphatic drainage and complexion. It helps the product penetrate deeper into our skin and makes it look plumper. It is also used for reducing inflammation and decongesting our skin.

These are the simple things you can do to prepare your skin for prom night and get glowing skin on prom.
