Perfect bra according to your breast shape

Bra according to your breast shape

Do you often wonder which bra is perfect for you according to your breast shape? Along with supporting your girls, a good bra helps in improving posture. It provides you with a better shape and helps in getting rid of back pain. A wrong bra can make you feel uncomfortable and unhappy. Fit should be number one on your list when it comes to buying a bra you love. If your boobs often bulge out in the wrong places, you need to reassess your bra and look for a bra according to your breast shape.

How to find your fit?

  • There are various ways to measure breast size for a perfect bra, but I have seen that they do not work for everyone. So there are few points that will tell you whether the bra you are wearing is your perfect fit or not.
  • If your bra band rides up in the back, it usually means that it is too loose. You can try a bra with a lower band size or look for a band shortener. Whereas, if your bra band feels too tight, try a bra with a larger band size or go for a band extender.
  • When the bra straps dig into your shoulders, it means your bra is too tight. It is always better to buy a bra with wide straps so that the weight they support is spread over a larger area.
  • If you have narrow shoulders and your bra straps fall off your shoulders, try using a racerback bra strap converter.
  • If your boobs bulge out of the cups, you are wearing the wrong type of bra. For this, try different types of bras.

Remember, if a bra according to your breast shape is perfect, it should:

  • Be supportive
  • Not rub or leave red marks
  • Sit horizontally around your back
  • Have a good-fitting underwire that does not cut into your breast tissue or create bulges

Best bra according to your breast shape-

Apple shape

For women with an apple shape, invest in a good bra that lifts and separates and when you buy shapewear, make sure it creates an illusion of a waist and a longer torso.

Full-on Bottom breasts

If you have full-on-bottom breasts, that means most of your breast mass or weight is on the lower half of the breast, below the nipple line. Plunge styles will look beautiful on you.

Pear shape

For women with pear body shape, buy bras with less padding, as this will create more balance with your lower part of the body.

Full-on Top breasts

If you have Full-on-top breasts, most of your breast volume is within the upper half of the breast, above the nipple line. Balcony bras will suit you.

Full All-Around

If you have Full-all-around breasts, you have an almost equal amount of breast tissue, both above and below your nipple. You are the lucky ones as mostly all the bra styles will work well for you.

Rectangular body type

If you have a rectangular body shape, wear a bra that fits you properly. It should separate your breasts and create some curves.

Pendulous

For the ladies with pendulous shaped breasts (softer breasts), full-coverage bras and bras with cut-and-sew cups will look most flattering on you.

Shallow/Projected

If you have shallow breasts ( breasts with a broad base that occupy a larger space on the chest), Demi, balconette, and plunge styles will look best on you. But, if you have projected breasts ( they cover less space on the chest and stick out farther from the body ), full coverage styles with deep bra cups will look great on you.

Small breasts

If you have a smaller breast and want to create an illusion of a heavy chest, try push-up bras, padded bras or silicone inserts.

Tuberous

Tubular breasts are the ones that have very little breast tissue. They have an elongated and cylindrical shape.

Padded push-up or T-shirt bras will give you a better shape.

Uneven boobs

If you have uneven boobs, wear bras that fit them. Contour-cup bras are the best choice for you if there is not much unevenness; but, if the size difference between your boobs is more, go for a silicone insert to create visual symmetry.

Narrowly Spaced

If you have close-set boobs (boobs that are close to each other), a plunge bra will be the most comfortable bra according to your body shape. And, if you have widely spaced boobs (they are farther apart), front-closure styles and balconette bras will look good on you.

Types Of bras

Balconette

A balconette is a half-cup bra with less coverage and prominent vertical seams. They have wide necklines and widely spaced straps. They are best suited on people with broad shoulders and full-on-bottom breasts. Balconette bra is worn inside low-cut tops.

Adhesive

Adhesive bras are strapless and backless, and they stay on the body as they are sticky. They are worn with backless, strapless, and deep-plunge styles. If you have large breasts and want a lot of support, this is not for you.

Bandeau

Bandeaus are like tube tops. They are not for you if you are looking for shaping and support. Bandeaus are perfect under a tank top or maxi dress.

Basques

Basques are modern-day corsets. They lift the bust, shape the waist, and smoothen up the belly area. Basques are great for those who have an apple body shape. It is something you would definitely want to wear under your wedding dress!

Bullet

They are vintage style, pointed, bullet-shaped bras. They are great if you are dressing up in a retro style.

Bralette

Bralette is a lightly structured bra without wires and with few seams. Although they are very comfortable, they do not provide a lot of support. They serve as a good lounge bra.

Cut-and-Sew

Cut-and-sew bras are made from multiple pieces of fabric that are stitched in such a way that they shape and support the breasts. These bras are great for people who have projected and pendulous breasts as they help in centring, uplifting and providing structure and stability to the breast.

T-Shirt

The T-shirt bra has seamless, rounded, moulded cups made from foam. They provide shape to the bust without adding bulk and are a great everyday option for several people.

Frame

Frame bras are triangular, cup-shaped bras that frame the breast without proper support and coverage.

Demi cup bras

Demi-cup bras are the bras that cover half of the breast. They are worn under a variety of tops and dresses. Demi bras flatter shallow and full-on-bottom breast shapes.

Full Coverage

Full cup bra covers most of the breast; they are best for people with larger busts as they are very supportive and made of seamless fabrics.

Strapless

A strapless bra is a bra without straps. You can wear it under strapless tops and dresses, of course, but they are also ideal for asymmetrical, halter neck, or spaghetti strap tops.

Front Closure

A front closure bra has hook-and-eye closure on the front of the bra. It makes our back smooth, and this is the best bra for the boobs that are widely spaced.

Maternity & Nursing

Maternity and nursing bras are made for those who are pregnant or are nursing. They have size-flexible cups, which stretch as your breasts grow. Nursing bras are worn after the baby is born and have clasps to give better access for feeding.

Mastectomy

They are bras that are designed specifically for people who have undergone a mastectomy. People who have had a lumpectomy or partial breast removal may also prefer mastectomy bras. Mastectomy bras have a pocket, soft inner lining and no underwires.

Minimizer

Minimizer bras are there to create an illusion of a smaller bust by reducing its projection. They flatten the breasts by pressing them toward the sides of the body.

Plunge

Plunge bras have a deep V neckline. Mostly they have push-up pads in them that push the breasts together to create cleavage. They are best for dresses and tops with low necklines.

Multiway

Multiway or convertible bras have removable and adjustable straps that can be worn in a halter, racerback, strapless, or one-shoulder tops and dresses. They are the best as you can try them with different clothing styles.

Open Cup

Open cup bras are those which have just enough fabric to support and lift the boobs from beneath.

Push-up

Push-up bras are the ones that have enough padding on the interior of the cup to give a fuller bust profile. These bras are best for those who have shallower breast shape or for anyone who wants the appearance of fuller boobs.

Sports

Sports bras are made for those who have an active lifestyle. They protect your breasts from excessive movement and reduce the pain and strain during physical activities. Different sports bras are available depending upon your workout intensity.

Wireless

Wireless bras are the ones that do not have underwires. They are a perfect choice for those who feel irritated because of underwires.

Remember, your bra is not something that you wear to look attractive in another person’s eyes but, it should be something that is unique to your own shape and something that makes you feel comfortable and sexy. Before buying a bra according to your breast shape, make sure you try different styles and brands and find your own perfect fit.
