Forgive your past

  • Forgiving those who did you wrong is not easy.
  • Why should I forgive a person who gave me so much pain?
  • The answer is that you do it for yourself, not for the other person. It takes a lot of energy to hold resentment and anger towards someone.
  • By forgiving, you take it back.
  • You will be the one living in hell while the other person might be enjoying life.
  • Do yourself a favour.
  • Forgive and let go.

  • Forgiving does not mean that you keep such people in your life and keep giving them opportunities again and again to destroy your peace.
  • As Maya Angelou says, “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”
  • Learn your lesson and part your ways from such people.
  • Forgive yourself as well for not knowing any better.

Do this forgiveness exercise:

Sit in silence for 15 minutes. Imagine the person who has wronged you and say-

  • I forgive you.
  • I break all my ties with you.
  • Thank you for teaching me what I had to learn.
  • I forgive myself for trusting you.
  • I let you go.
