Self care Sunday routine- Best way to pamper yourself

Self care sunday routine

After exhausting ourselves for an entire week, all we want is a reset. Most self-care routines revolve around taking care of our physical body and ignoring the mental and spiritual aspects. This self-care Sunday routine is all you need on the weekend to prepare you for the week.

Self-care Sunday routine-

Meditation

Start your self-care Sunday morning by meditating. I usually choose a meditation that connects me with my feminine energy and sensuality.

These are my favourite feminine energy rituals

Oral care

After meditation, drink some water and do oil pulling.
While doing oil pulling, take a strawberry and make its paste.
After oil pulling, add some strawberry paste to your toothpaste. Strawberries have malic acid in them that makes them a natural teeth whitener. Let your pearly white teeth shock you!

Oil massage

Massage your scalp using oil after oral care. A scalp massage releases tension and improves the health of hair tremendously. You can use any type of oil that suits your hair. I use mustard oil for head massage as it works best for me.

After massaging your scalp, give a massage to your entire body with warm oil. It is an ancient ayurvedic practice called abhyanga. You can use any type of oil for the same. But let me share a secret with you- using sesame oil is the best option. Massage your body towards your heart and use circular motions to massage your belly area. Do not forget to massage your foot.

After the oil massage, hop into the shower and pamper yourself with these DIY recipes. Before showering, set the intention of giving love to yourself.

DIY hair mask

  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 2 tbsp plain yoghurt
  • Juice of 1⁄2 lemon

Stir the ingredients together until you get a smooth paste using a fork.
Apply the entire mixture to your head on dry hair and massage it on your hair and scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave the treatment on for 20 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm water. Then shampoo as usual.

When your hair is super dry or damaged, you need deep conditioning. Avocados are rich in protein, vitamins and oil. They contain natural oils that form a protective barrier and keep your hair hydrated, soft, and flexible.

Legit ways to get long and gorgeous hair

Hair rinse

  • 1⁄2 cup boiling water
  • Few mint leaves or a mint tea bag
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Pour boiling water over the mint leaves or tea bag and let it steep until cool. Remove the leaves/teabag. Then, stir in the vinegar.
Shampoo and condition your hair as usual. Then, apply the entire mixture to your hair. Massage it on your scalp and work it through your hair. Post that, give your hair a final rinse before drying it.

Mint and vinegar will clean your scalp and leave your hair feeling fresh. It will get rid of any residue from styling gels or soap-based shampoos.

DIY body scrub

For this you need-

  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp soy milk

Stir all the ingredients together until you get a smooth cream.
Stand in the shower or tub before bathing and gently massage the mixture all over your body to increase circulation; remove dry or flaky skin. Rinse well. After that, do not forget to apply a good moisturizer.

Soy is great for the skin. It increases collagen production and helps keep skin tone even. Along with including sugar for exfoliation and olive oil for nourishing to produce healthy, fresh skin, this scrub provides those benefits.

To Hydrate your body-

  • 1/4 cup beeswax
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil
  • 2 tbsp cocoa butter
  • 5 drops of essential rose oil

Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Pour water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Put the bowl in the saucepan.
When your mixture has melted completely, pour it into a jar and store it in a dark place. Use it after showering.

In the shower, do your regular facial skincare routine as we will do our DIY facial in the night.

The entire week, I prefer eating healthy food. But on Sundays, I eat whatever my heart wants. I enjoy my cheat day. It is okay to have your favourite dessert or pizza sometimes. After all, balance is the key.

Dance

Along with being a marvellous exercise, dance can take away all the stress, pain and stuck up energy from our body when done consciously.
All you have to do is-

Turn on the music that makes you tune into the rhythm and move freely. Begin by standing with your feet parallel to your shoulders and letting your body and mind relax.
You may want to close your eyes so that your eyes only see the inner landscape of your consciousness.
Become aware of your breathing. Inhale and exhale deeply, filling your lungs entirely. Do this for a few minutes; it will awaken the shakti within.
Relax and allow your body to move to the rhythm. You will soon feel the life-force energy moving through your body. At this point, you as a dancer will disappear, and you will become the dance. Understand then that you’ve awakened shakti. Focus on your movement and your body. Here, you can experience profound emotions and a peaceful connection to your own spirit.

This one is my favourite

Spend some time in nature

Take some time to breathe with the trees. See the tiniest details in clouds, trees, rocks, and water; see the universe revealing itself to you through a leaf. Notice the divinity in grass and flower. Feel the sun on your face; let the wind caress your body. Listen to the sound of nature. Spend some time with the moon. If that is not possible for you, let your imagination take things in hand. Add this to your self-care Sunday routine, and notice how things change for the better!

Ignite your creativity

Clean your space. Do usual things differently.
Unleash your inner artist. Bake a cake. Try out different clothing styles or makeup. Make some changes to the interior of your place.

Soul writing

Plan your week

Plan everything for the week- your workouts, meals, daily tasks that will take you towards your goals. Get your priorities straight.

A good night

Select your Monday outfit. Create a comfortable and cosy room setting.
Spray a lavender mist and moisturize your hands.
